With the introduction of the prophet Elijah in chapter 17, so beings a period of miracles as God continues to call his people to holiness. And it is one of my favorite stories from the Bible.

There are five bad kings in chapter 16. But they set the stage for an age of prophets and miracles, and the awesome plan of God.

In chapter 15, we have the final contrast of the book between good and bad rulers (for the rest of the book, they are all bad!) There is so much we can learn by looking at history.

Godless leaders lead to godless nations in chapter 14. It's difficult to face it, but it is something we must see.
