In Mark 4, Jesus teaches with parables to reveal truth to His followers that was hidden from His enemies.

Mark 3 records the expansion of Jesus' ministry, which led to confusion from those closest to Him and rejection from the religious leaders. He also warned of eternal consequences for "blasphemy of the Spirit."

Jesus' conflict with the religious leaders centered around their views on the Law. But Jesus introduced some "New Rules" in chapter 2, and changed how they were to understand God's commands.

Forgiveness is a major theme in Jesus' early Galilean ministry.
